Ms. Ryan is the Director of Jonathan Rose Companies’ Seattle Office, supervising the firm’s development and consulting activities on the West Coast. She also provides asset management for the firm’s West Coast portfolio, which includes office buildings in Seattle and Portland, OR and mixed income housing in Portland, OR and Berkeley, CA. Ms. Ryan previously served as Director of Civic Development in Jonathan Rose Companies’ New York City office providing real estate advisory services for civic and not-for-profit institutions. In that role, she was active in the direct management of mixed use/mixed income projects, K-12 schools, and performing arts projects.

Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Ms. Ryan worked with Civic Builders, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the development of Charter Schools in the NYC metropolitan area. Before Civic Builders, Ms. Ryan was the Vice President of Development for The Dermot Company, a New York City based real estate investment, development and management company, focused on multi-family sector opportunities. In that role, Ms. Ryan supervised and directed pre-construction design and planning, project financing, construction administration and project marketing for several of Dermot’s projects, including the conversion of the Williamsburg Savings Bank Building, a landmarked office tower in Brooklyn, to a mixed use building with residential condos, commercial medical office space, and a national retail tenant.  Prior to this, Ms. Ryan handled all property management functions for the Dermot portfolio of 4,000 units, which included properties in New York City and six other locations across the country.  During this time, she supervised the disposition of three of these assets.

Prior to her time at Dermot, Ms. Ryan worked as an Associate for Emmes Asset Management Co. where she was responsible for oversight of a boutique office building and a one million square foot industrial office park in Baltimore, MD.  She also helped lead the due diligence efforts to purchase a 2,500 unit property in Brooklyn, NY out of bankruptcy, and the subsequent management of the asset.

Ms. Ryan also worked for Corporate Realty Investment Company where she prepared cost of capital, leverage, tax impact and other acquisition analyses for company investing for its own account in net leased and other credit tenant real estate.

At the start of her career, Ms. Ryan spent seven years in the non-profit sector, where she worked in child welfare, AIDS, and human rights organizations. In 1995, Ms. Ryan founded an advocacy and service organization for children in the U.S. who are orphaned by the AIDS crisis.

Ms. Ryan graduated from Columbia Business School with an MBA in Finance & Economics and Real Estate in 2002.  She received her BA from Yale University in 1993.

Ms. Ryan is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in New York and a LEED Accredited Professional.
