As Chief Financial Officer of Jonathan Rose Companies, Thomas P. Loftus oversees all of the financial operations associated with the firm’s national real estate planning, development, program management and investment practice. Mr. Loftus brings to his role extensive career expertise in financial administration as well as operations of real estate opportunity funds. Mr. Loftus’ responsibilities as CFO of Jonathan Rose Companies include the structuring, fund-raising and start up of the Rose Smart Growth Investment Fund I, the first green real estate investment fund to focus exclusively on providing superior economic returns through the creation of a national portfolio of green real estate assets in smart growth, mass transit accessible locations. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies in 2002, Mr. Loftus was Director of Accounting at Tishman Speyer Properties and responsible for managing the firm’s worldwide financial staff. In addition to his management responsibilities, he played a leadership role in restructuring the quarterly financial reporting systems of four real estate opportunity funds. From 1995 to 2000, Thomas Loftus served as the Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary for Cornerstone Properties Inc., a NYSE listed real estate investment trust with a portfolio invested in commercial office assets throughout the United States. While at Cornerstone Properties, Mr. Loftus was instrumental in the transition to a self-administered independent company, administering all facets of accounting and financial reporting. He also integrated multiple mergers on behalf of Cornerstone Properties including its last with Equity Office Properties. Mr. Loftus worked for Deutsche Bank from 1988 to 1995 prior to joining its affiliated entity, Cornerstone Properties. During his career at Deutsche Bank, he coordinated the spin-off of the real estate operations from Deutsche Bank Capital Corporation into the subsidiary Deutsche Bank Realty Advisors, Inc. where he became the Director, Secretary and Treasurer. He was responsible for the formation, structuring and organization of all aspects of this new entity. Mr. Loftus graduated with both his M. B. A. in Finance and his B. S. in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude, from Seton Hall University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
